Charities and Not-for-profits: Losing Your Status and Your Reputation

This post was written prior to our January 2017 merger, under our previous firm name, Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson LLP.

At the upcoming 2016 Prairie Provinces Tax Conference, presented by the Canadian Tax Foundation, Aikins lawyer Florence Carey will deliver a presentation entitled “Charities, Not-for-profits, and Other Exempt Entities: Losing Your Status and Your Reputation.” Florence specializes in the area of taxation and provides services to non-profit organizations and charities, including applications for charitable status.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Planning in a High-Rate Environment.” The two-day event is an excellent education and networking opportunity for tax professionals and government officials. Mike Ziesmann from Aikins Law is on the planning committee for the conference and will be serving as a session moderator on the opening day of the conference. The firm is also sponsoring the Tuesday morning refreshment break.
