Florence Carey Named Vice-Chair of CBA National Charities & Not-for-Profit Law Section

MLT Aikins wishes to extend congratulations to Winnipeg lawyer Florence Carey on her appointment as Vice-Chair of the National Charities & Not-for-Profit Law section of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) for the 2019/2020 year.

Florence served on the Charities and Not-for-Profit Law Executive Committee as treasurer for the past year and is actively involved in a number of local charitable organizations. She practises in the area of taxation, estate planning and administration, corporate/commercial law and owner-operated enterprises. Florence also provides services to non-profit organizations and charities, including applications for charitable status, incorporations, corporate governance and bylaws, CRA compliance and audits, gift planning and general advice.

The CBA Charities and Not-for-Profit Law Section deals with legal issues related to this important sector. The Section includes lawyers who advise or serve on the boards of charitable and other not-for-profit organizations – or are otherwise involved with the law and practice related to the charitable and not-for-profit sector.
