Four Saskatchewan labour and employment lawyers – Robert Frost-Hinz, Brent Matkowski, Shannon Whyley and Kevin Wilson – are set to present at the 2019 Accommodation Law Conference taking place in Saskatoon from May 8-9.
On Wednesday, May 8, Shannon will co-present “The Year’s Top Accommodation Cases,” reviewing important new accommodation cases in Canada and their impact on Saskatchewan unions and employers.
On Thursday, May 9, Kevin and his co-presenter will lead a half-day session on a variety of topics including “Legal Duties on Employees and Their Unions When Seeking Accommodation,” “Medical Information Needed to Support an Accommodation Claim,” “Scheduling Accommodation” and “Ten Winning Accommodation Strategies.”
Robert and Brent will participate in a panel discussion called “Accommodation Allowed… or Denied?” Three guest labour arbitrators will offer instant rulings on accommodation grievances presented by union and management counsel.

The Accommodation Law Conference is an annual conference hosted by LabourLawOnline.ca, Centre for Labour-Management Development. The two-day program for HR professionals explores recent legal developments in the employer’s duty to accommodate and how those breakthroughs will affect union and employer representatives in unionized workplaces in Canada.
