Winnipeg lawyer J.J. Burnell has been appointed to the 2019-2020 Canadian Bar Association Insolvency Law Section Executive as Secretary. She joins the executive with hopes of contributing to the growth of the section, providing representation for each province and giving every level of experience a voice. “We have an opportunity to engage and mentor young insolvency lawyers, to educate our fellow insolvency and non-insolvency lawyers and to advocate on behalf of our practice area,” J.J. said.
J.J. has a long history of supporting the CBA and MBA — she has been actively involved in both the CBA Insolvency Law section and the CBA Pension Benefits Law section in various capacities.
The CBA Insolvency Law Section advocates for bankruptcy law reform and offers timely legal education and professional development in this important area of law.
