Kristél Kriel to Present at 2019 Saskatchewan Connections Conference

On Friday, September 27, Regina lawyer Kristél Kriel will present on “Privacy Hot Topics” at the 2019 Saskatchewan Connections Conference taking place in Saskatoon.

The session includes an overview of privacy hot topics including a review of new laws and cases that impact organizations in Saskatchewan as well as an analysis of requirements and best practices for privacy compliance programs.

The presentation comes as part of the two-day conference organized by the Public Service Information Community Connection (PSICC). This year’s theme is Access, Privacy, Security, IM & Personal Health Information.  The conference boasts a wide range of topics relating to breaking down barriers to privacy, access and information management. Attendees can expect to strengthen their skills and gain knowledge in various subject areas, stay on top of emerging issues and trends, learn about the interconnectedness of privacy related disciplines and find practical solutions to information challenges.

Kristél has a general corporate commercial practice with a focus on privacy, freedom of information, technology, credit unions and non-profits.

She advises public and private organizations on privacy and freedom of information laws, including matters such as interpretation, compliance, policy development, education, and training. She has advised a variety of organizations on privacy issues affecting their customers and workplaces, including in the healthcare context. Kristél has also advised a number of organizations on provincial and federal freedom of information access requests, as well as reviews by the Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner.
