Lawyer Salvatore Amelio, Q.C., Sessional Chair at Annual LESA Refresher: Business

MLT Aikins lawyer Salvatore Amelio (Sam) has been selected to chair one of the morning plenary sessions at this year’s 51st Annual Refresher Course: Business Disputes, hosted by The Legal Education Society of Alberta.

The event, which will take place at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise on May 6-8, aims to further develop the legal fundamentals associated with business disputes, while helping connect top practitioners from across Alberta.

The program is directed toward lawyers with a pre-existing interest or those practising corporate, commercial and business law. The event offers presentations across a spectrum of corporate, commercial and business law topics.

Sam will chair the May 7 morning plenary on Private Enterprises and its changing landscape. It will feature presentations highlighting changes in Lending Practice, the changing role of the Business Advisory, the private corporate tax proposals and international tax planning under U.S. tax reform.

Sam practices in banking and commercial lending, corporate governance, wills, trusts and estate planning & administration. He advises corporations, financial institutions, borrowers and entrepreneurs on real estate and commercial transactions and financings, corporate financing and organization and partnership agreements.
