MLT Aikins wishes to extend congratulations to Edmonton lawyer Meaghan Conroy on her appointment as Chair of Homeward Trust Edmonton for the 2019/2020 year.
Meaghan has served on the Homeward Trust Edmonton Board since 2017. She previously chaired its Governance & Compensation Committee and held the position of Vice President. She practises in the area of Aboriginal law, administrative and public law, environmental law and constitutional law.
Homeward Trust Edmonton is a not-for-profit organization responsible for local efforts to prevent and end homelessness. Homeward Trust and their partners employ internationally proven interventions, particularly the “Housing First” model, to achieve rapid and permanent reductions in the number of people experiencing homelessness. They work with agencies, neighbourhoods, community members and all orders of government in carrying out their mandate. More than 9,300 people have been housed and supported through Housing First since 2008. Homeward Trust has been recognized locally, nationally, and internationally as a leader in this work.
