Winnipeg lawyer Curtis Unfried and legal assistant Stephanie Murphy are both featured in a recent article—“Lawyers Make Fun to Fundraise for Charity”—published by the Winnipeg Free Press.
The story details the firm’s humorous approach to raising funds for the United Way.
A few years ago, to encourage additional donations, photos of lawyers taken in the 1980s were circulated throughout the Winnipeg office to remind potential donors of how they once spent their money on questionable fashion choices, rather than donating it to a worthy cause.
“It was a humorous way to put things into perspective,” Curtis says in the story.
The Winnipeg office of MLT Aikins has been fundraising for the United Way for more than 30 years, and has raised several million dollars for the cause. This year’s campaign is on pace to exceed last year’s total of $118,000.
