For the fifth consecutive year, MLT Aikins will sponsor and participate in the Winnipeg Foundation’s annual Fast Pitch event.
Fast Pitch is an eight-week coaching program designed to help build the capacity of, and create visibility for, Winnipeg’s charitable sector. Fast Pitch is part of an international movement that helps organizations create powerful, high-energy cases for support, delivered in three minutes or less. Winnipeg lawyer Peter Anandranistakis will serve as a coach this year.
Charities are paired with two coaches from the business community at a speed networking event in January. The Fast Pitch coaches and the leaders of charitable organizations work together in group coaching sessions to refine their presentation skills and craft inspirational stories about the not-for-profit work being done in Winnipeg – and ultimately build strong relationships between the city’s charitable and business communities.
The program culminates in a showcase event where each charity delivers a three-minute pitch for their cause, for a chance to win up to $26,000 in prizes for their charitable organizations. The final Showcase takes place on Wednesday, February 26 at the Met in Winnipeg.
Winners will be determined by a panel of judges and the audience will vote for People’s Choice Award.
