Located at the main Vancouver courthouse, the Law Courts Inn is an institution in the Vancouver legal community. In addition to being a popular lunch spot for lawyers and judges during court days, the Inn hosts parties, weddings and public events.
At its Annual General Meeting on May 17, the Lawyers’ Inn Society officially launched a new fundraising campaign as part of its ongoing revitalization of the facility.
MLT Aikins lawyer Lynsey Gaudin joined approximately 100 lawyers and judges for the lunch meeting. MLT Aikins was pleased to kick off the campaign by making its inaugural donation. As a gold sponsor, the firm will now join the ranks of other supporters on the living donor wall.
The Lawyers’ Inn Society, which operates the Inn, aims to “foster and promote understanding, co-operation, exchange of ideas and comradeship between all members of the legal profession, and to provide a forum for the full and free discussion of all matters of interest to its members.” The Inn itself was modeled after the centuries-old Inns of Court in London, England. The Law Courts Inn officially opened its doors in Vancouver on May 14, 1972; it moved to its current location in 1981.
