MLT Helping to Make Legal Services More Accessible

This post was written prior to our January 2017 merger, under our previous firm name, MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman LLP.

Recognizing the importance of making legal services accessible in the community, MLT lawyers in Edmonton are active contributors to Alberta’s Provincial Court Civil Claims Duty Counsel Program, an initiative of Pro Bono Law Alberta that connects volunteer lawyers with Albertans, including those with limited means, to assist with civil proceedings before the Provincial Court. MLT’s efforts are coordinated by Dana Nowak of the firm’s Edmonton office and Walter Pavlic serves on the Board of Pro Bono Law Alberta. Nowak comments, “The cost of legal services can make access to justice a real challenge for some. This program helps people in need understand their legal rights and the court process.”

MLT is committed to supporting causes that help people in need in our communities.
