On November 18, members of the MLT Aikins Winnipeg office participated in the 2020 Move For a Cure for JDRF.
The scheduled in-person Pedal for a Cure events for 2020 were cancelled due to COVID-19. Instead, JDRF went virtual for the event and provided a series of high-energy Move for a Cure options for participants to engage in at home via an online platform. Participants had the option to choose to spin on a stationary bike, break a sweat at a fitness class or stretch in a yoga class. The virtual events combined team building and friendly competition among professionals across Canada in efforts to raise funds towards curing type 1 diabetes.
The MLT Aikins team surpassed their goal of $2,500 and raised $3,179 to support Type 1 diabetes.
JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s vision is to achieve a world without T1D and to turn type 1 into type none. They are the largest non-profit funder of T1D research in the world, with a mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.
JDRF strives to help people at all ages and all stages of the disease to live better, longer, healthier lives.
