Winnipeg lawyer Reis Pagtakhan will speak at the upcoming “Learning from the Manitoba Experience” meeting hosted by the Conference Board of Canada’s National Immigration Centre in Winnipeg on November 1.
Reis will be part of a panel discussion titled “The PNP @ 20,” reflecting on the 20-year anniversary of Manitoba joining Saskatchewan and British Columbia in signing a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) agreement with the federal government.
The PNP has been critical to addressing Manitoba’s labour market needs and has been the main driver of immigration to the province. Panellists will discuss the PNP’s strengths, weaknesses and areas of improvement.
About the Event
“Learning from the Manitoba Experience” will examine how key lessons from the province’s immigration experience can be applied across Canada, and explore ways of fostering welcoming communities to promote the career success of immigrants. The event runs from November 1 to 2.
