MLT Aikins wishes to congratulate Winnipeg lawyer Sacha Nelson on her appointment to the 2019-2020 Winnipeg Harvest Board of Directors on June 19, 2019.
Most recently, Winnipeg Harvest decided to amalgamate with Manitoba Food Banks of Canada to become Harvest Manitoba Inc. in order to increase the reach of Harvest’s objectives to help not only those in Winnipeg but across Manitoba. Winnipeg Harvest distributes surplus food through the Manitoba Association of Food Banks and through nearly 400 agencies including soup kitchens, food banks and youth programs, to families in need all over Manitoba.
The board reconvenes in September — members expect to discuss fundraising initiatives, community outreach and the growth of the newly merged entity this fall. “This is an exciting time for Harvest and I feel fortunate to be joining the board as they embark on this new chapter,” said Sacha.
