Sam Amelio Appointed Queen’s Counsel

The Attorney General of Alberta has announced that MLT Edmonton’s Sam Amelio is among those members of the Alberta Bar being honoured with the distinction of Queen’s Counsel for 2012-2013. In the official news release Attorney General Jonathan Denis, Q.C. notes, “The Queen’s Counsel designation recognizes the exceptional capabilities and talents of this year’s impressive group. These lawyers are a credit to their profession and to their province.” This distinction dates back to the 16th century in England, and recognizes consistently high standards of practice and distinguished service to the profession.

Sam focuses on real estate and commercial transactions and financings, corporate financing and organization, partnership agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning. He has been an instructor on the Bar Admission Course since 1993 and has chaired the Notaries Public Review Committee since 2005.
