MLT Aikins is proud to announce the election of Sam Amelio, Q.C. to the Executive Committee for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Edmonton Branch.
Sam obtained his Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation in 2006 and has been a member of STEP Canada for more than 10 years.
STEP has earned a reputation as the leading international organization for trust and estate professionals. Recognized around the world, the TEP designation serves to distinguish qualified practitioners from “non-specialists” who occasionally deal with trusts and estates. To earn and maintain the designation, STEP members must pass strict training standards and complete annual education requirements.
As part of its efforts to elevate the profession’s profile and advocate on behalf of members, STEP Canada actively makes “representations of a technical nature to government, policymakers and related professional bodies, with the goal of promoting better understanding of trusts and estates, and improving related law and policy.”
The firm congratulates Sam on this well-deserved appointment and applauds his continued leadership in the field of trust and estate planning.
