On April 21, 2023, Edmonton lawyer Sharon Au joined a panel of speakers to discuss the Supreme Court of Canada’s recent decision in Annapolis Group Inc. v. Halifax Regional Municipality at the Osgoode Hall Law School’s 16th Annual Conference on Crown Liability.
The panel discussed the “law of taking” and the potential implications raised by Annapolis on the law going forward. The session was attended by government and private practice lawyers across the country with an interest in expropriation and how government bodies may be affected by this decision.
