This post was written prior to our January 2017 merger, under our previous firm name, Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson LLP.
Aikins is pleased to host a luncheon discussion with speakers from the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC). This interactive session will focus on the IPIC’s proposal to modernize the governance framework for patent and trademark agents, and will include topics such as code of conduct. Questions and input are encouraged. The speakers will also provide information on upcoming changes to the IP system, and report on the IPIC’s recent advocacy, public awareness and professional development initiatives.
About the Speakers
Peter Wilcox, IPIC President. His practice covers patent, trademark and copyright litigation, including applications under the PM (NOC) Regulations and trademark oppositions.
Michel Gérin, consultant to IPIC on the modern governance framework project. Former IPIC Executive Director and an Honorary Member of the Institute, he previously worked in the New Media group at CBC/Radio-Canada.
