This fall, the Winnipeg office of MLT Aikins welcomed three new associate lawyers: Harmanjit (Harman) Mavi, Geoffrey Toews and Marc Unger.
Harman Mavi works in the area of succession and estate planning, helping clients achieve goals such as providing for disabled beneficiaries, preserving family assets, establishing testamentary trusts, and reorganizing corporate entities for intergenerational transfer of business ownership. Called to the Manitoba Bar in 2013, Harman also holds a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
Since being called to the Manitoba Bar in 2013, Geoffrey Toews has focused his practice primarily in the areas of corporate and commercial law, frequently advising clients on matters related to commercial real estate and business transactions. In addition, he provides advice on condominium developments, corporate reorganization and governance, and commercial leases.
Marc Unger practises in the area of corporate and commercial law, with a focus on banking and commercial lending, commercial real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and privacy law. First called to the Quebec Bar in 2010 (followed by Ontario in 2011 and Saskatchewan in 2016), Marc provides services in both French and English. He most recently served as in-house legal counsel with Farm Credit Canada.
