Katie Bellett is an articling student in the firm’s Vancouver office, returning to MLT Aikins after working as a summer student at the firm in 2019. She completed her Juris Doctor with an option in environmental law at the University of Ottawa.
During law school, Katie took part in the Ecojustice Environmental Law Clinic at the University of Ottawa where she conducted legal research and prepared memos for ongoing cases. She has experience developing legal arguments in a factum and has presented oral arguments before Ecojustice lawyers during the clinic moot.
Katie has experience with environmental and Aboriginal law through two internships she completed: one at West Coast Environmental Law, where she assisted in drafting environmental management plans for two Indigenous protected areas in British Columbia; and the second at Ratcliff & Company LLP where she prepared memos and reviewed documents for discovery in preparation for an environmental and Aboriginal law trial.
Prior to law school, Katie completed a bachelor of arts degree with a major in history at the University of British Columbia.
