Vanessa is a member of the firm’s advocacy group and she maintains a general litigation practice.

Vanessa has an expanding litigation practice. She prides herself on providing practical advice and being sensitive to the needs of her clients. Vanessa has experience helping prepare clients who will be testifying in court and she has appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court.

Vanessa was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2018. Before joining MLT Aikins, she practiced civil litigation, predominantly working on civil sexual assault cases and class actions.

Vanessa obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia. As part of her law program, she was involved with the UBC Innocence Project where she investigated wrongful convictions. Vanessa also completed an internship with a women’s rights organization in Eastern Africa.

Prior to law school, Vanessa worked as a victim support worker. She helped survivors of sexual and physical violence, both adults and children, navigate the criminal court system.
