International CCS Knowledge Centre advancing carbon capture and storage technology projects
The International CCS Knowledge Centre (Knowledge Centre) was founded in 2016 by BHP Group Limited and SaskPower. With a mission to manage industrial greenhouse gas emissions effectively and achieve global climate goals, the Knowledge Centre offers advisory services based on its unparalleled experience in developing and advancing large-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.
In the pursuit of its mission, the Knowledge Centre has encountered the multiple legal components inherent in CCS projects across diverse industries and global jurisdictions. CCS projects will be key to achieving net zero, but come with a number of technical and regulatory challenges to advance initiatives effectively.
Together, MLT Aikins and the Knowledge Centre continue to pioneer innovative solutions in carbon capture and storage. We possess extensive knowledge in this space and are Canadian law firm leaders in CCS projects.
A defining moment in the global energy transition
“The Knowledge Centre has made significant strides in advancing CCS technology worldwide with a mission to advance CCS as a vital technology for reducing industrial greenhouse gas emissions.”
