MLT Aikins is pleased to welcome associate lawyer Carter Liebzeit to the firm’s Winnipeg office.
Carter’s practice includes a broad range of commercial and civil litigation matters. He has played a significant role on complex litigation files, including commercial disputes, fraud claims and class actions. Carter has extensive advocacy experience, having acted as counsel on various motions on the Toronto Commercial List, six urgent injunctions and several trials and arbitrations.
Carter obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba, where he achieved the highest standing in six courses. He clerked for the Manitoba Court of Appeal and for Justice McVeigh of the Federal Court. He summered with the Ontario Securities Commission’s Enforcement Branch and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Geneva, Switzerland. Carter also spent four years collecting statistics for the Winnipeg Jets during the team’s home games.
