How MLT Aikins is Planting Possibility for the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre

In late summer, MLT Aikins donated $180,000 to the Plant Possibility campaign to create a new home for the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.

Firmly rooted in our communities and the western Canadian ethos of paying it forward, MLT Aikins has a long history of community involvement. The United Way, Regina Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity and all Hospital Foundations in Saskatchewan are just a few of the charities the firm supports in the province.

From corporate sponsorships, to participating in community fundraisers, to office ‘fun’draising events and individual volunteering, we are actively engaged in making our communities better places. MLT Aikins partner Alain Gaucher volunteers his time as a critical member of the Plant Possibility Campaign Cabinet.

“The health and well-being of our communities is paramount,” says Alain. “Everyone has a right to life’s staples: food security, learning and employment. Sadly, there are thousands in Saskatoon struggling to put food on the table to feed their families, and the food bank is bursting at the seams. MLT Aikins is very proud to be a part of the Plant Possibility campaign and help the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre optimize its operations and expand its programs and services.”

Laurie O’Connor is executive director of the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre. “MLT Aikins has exemplified the spirit of community involvement and giving back in the most remarkable way. With their donation of $180,000 to the Plant Possibility campaign, their generosity will continue to nourish our mission to serve those in need and foster a better future for our community,” says Laurie.

“Moreover, we extend our deepest gratitude to Alain, an integral member of the Campaign Cabinet. His dedicated volunteerism has been a major part of the campaign’s success and his involvement reflects the commitment of MLT Aikins to making our community better for all,” adds Laurie.
