MLT Aikins partner speaking at IWIRC conference in Santa Barbara

J.J. Burnell will be a panelist and moderator at an upcoming International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation conference themed IWIRC on the Vine – Santa Barbara Wine Region Edition.

The conference will take place on November 3-5 in Santa Barbara, California. The agenda includes a variety of networking opportunities and educational sessions on the topics of insolvency and debt restructuring.

J.J. will moderate a panel entitled ‘When North Meets South: A Cross Border Conversation.’ Attendees from Canada and the U.S. will delve into key topics in insolvency, how the two countries’ respective schemes differ and how these schemes are similar. Other panelists will include Jeri Leigh Miller (Sidley Austin LLP), Michelle Grant (PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc.) and Emily Paplawski (Hoskin & Harcourt LLP).

J.J. Burnell is a partner at MLT Aikins and based in Winnipeg. She practises in the areas of corporate recovery and insolvency law, as well as in pension and benefits law.
