MLT Aikins Shatters Previous Fundraising Record for JDRF’s Sun Life Ride to Defeat Diabetes

A total of 29 MLT Aikins lawyers and staff participated in a  “Move for a Cure” event, helping raise $6,955.50 in support of JDRF’s type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

The funds raised more than doubled the firm’s previous JDRF fundraising record of $3,178.50 set last year and far exceeded the firm’s goal of raising $3,500 this year.

Lawyers and staff from all six MLT Aikins offices participated in this year’s virtual event, taking part in spin sessions, fitness or “sweat” classes and yoga sessions to help raise funds to support JDRF’s goal of curing T1D.

“Thank you to all who participated, fundraised, donated and increased our visibility by sharing our team’s fundraising page,” said Winnipeg lawyer Jessica Jensen, who has organized the firm’s JDRF fundraising efforts for the past three years.
