Reis Pagtakhan appointed to Manitoba Premier’s Business and Jobs Council

On December 7, 2023, Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew announced the creation of the Premier’s Business and Jobs Council. Based in Winnipeg, MLT Aikins partner Reis Pagtakhan has been asked to join the influential 36-person council.

“It is an honor for me to be asked to collaborate with this remarkable team of council members. Our goal is work together to make Manitoba a prominent player in both the Canadian and global economies. As an immigration lawyer, I’m especially pleased that the importance of immigration to our province’s economic success is being recognized,” says Reis.

“The members of this council bring with them a range of experiences from different regions and sectors of our province,” says Kinew. “The Premier’s Business and Jobs Council is an important opportunity for Manitobans from all walks of life to come together at the table, share their expertise and come up with creative solutions to the economic challenges we face today.”

According to the provincial news release, the council’s work will build on the priorities Manitobans have shared with the government, strengthening Manitoba’s low-carbon, diverse economy while creating good family-supporting jobs across the province.
