Tunahan Uygun is a litigation associate based in the firm’s Edmonton office who focuses his practice on commercial litigation, Aboriginal law, municipal law and administrative law.

Tunahan has wide-ranging experience acting for clients in commercial litigation disputes including contractual disputes, construction lien matters, forbearances and commercial leasing disputes. Tunahan has appeared before various levels of courts, regulatory bodies and administrative boards and has resolved disputes through alternative dispute resolutions.  

Prior to joining MLT Aikins, Tunahan worked as a criminal defence lawyer and clerked for the Alberta Court of Justice. Tunahan’s community involvement includes volunteering through the King’s Bench Amicus Project and Civil Claims Duty Counsel. 

Prior to law school, Tunahan obtained a Bachelor of Arts honours degree from MacEwan University, where he majored in political science. He participated in multiple international National Model United Nations Conferences while obtaining his bachelor’s degree and completed a legal exchange program in China in law school.
