Brock advises First Nation governments on economic development matters, including complex land transactions (on and off reserve), as well as negotiating, drafting, ratifying and implementing financial compensation and land claim agreements with the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Crowns. Brock also advises non-Indigenous clients with corporate/commercial matters and commercial real estate matters.

Brock advises First Nation government clients on a wide range of economic development and related issues that are unique to First Nations across Canada. He has acted for multiple First Nation governments and their economic development businesses in a variety of industries including the oilsands, oil and gas, pipeline, utility, tourism and fishing industries. Brock also has extensive experience in helping First Nations deal with their land (and related residential and commercial real estate development) matters under the Indian Act, First Nations Land Management Act and modern Treaty (Final Agreement).
Brock also assists non-First Nation clients with their corporate/commercial matters, including various commercial real estate, financing and share/asset transactions.
Brock was born and raised in Treaty No. 8 territory in Fort St. John, British Columbia, and is an affiliate member of the Bigstone Cree Nation located in north-central Alberta.
- Acted for First Nation clients to negotiate, draft, ratify and implement their financial compensation and land claim agreements with the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Crown governments
- Acted for multiple First Nation clients and their related economic development businesses with their off-reserve business partnerships, including limited partnerships and joint ventures in the oil and gas, forestry, mining, tourism, eHealth and fishing industries
- Acted for multiple First Nation clients and their related economic development businesses with their on-reserve residential and commercial real estate developments
- Acted for multiple First Nation clients with their on-reserve land matters under the Indian Act, First Nations Land Management Actand modern Treaty, including the negotiation and registration of various instruments and encumbrances affecting reserve lands such as utility/road permits, security agreements and transactions involving certificates of possession
- Acted for a First Nation client in the implementation of its modern Treaty (Final Agreement), which included one of the largest electronic registrations with the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia
- Acted for a government established entity/client with certain on-reserve housing matters
- Acted for a First Nation economic development client in an asset purchase transaction involving a hotel and related leasehold and chattel property
- Acted for multiple First Nation clients on various Impacts and Benefits Agreements in the mining, oil and gas, pipeline, oilsands and utility industries
- Acted for a First Nation client with the negotiation of its education agreement with the education ministry of a provincial government
- Acted for an aviation client in ongoing asset purchases including multiple rotary-wing aircraft, employee contracts and leased airport facilities and related commercial financing for such transactions
