Ali Bazzi

Ali received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2025. Having attained a Bachelor of Commerce in 2020, Ali’s accounting skills were put to work in both professional and voluntary capacities before beginning to pursue his law degree.

Marco D’Amore

Marco joins the firm’s Corporate and Commercial group. He received his Juris Doctor with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2025. Prior to beginning his law education, Marco received a Bachelor of Science with distinction, specializing in psychology. His time spent working within his family’s deli business has taught him the importance of an entrepreneurial work ethic and the value of building strong client relationships through personalized service.

Calgary

Lauren Martin

Lauren joins the MLT Aikins Litigation group, practising in the areas of commercial litigation and insolvency and restructuring. Lauren received her Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2025. She joined the MLT Aikins Calgary office as an associate after both articling and summering with the Calgary office during law school. Prior to entering law school, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and a chemistry minor.

Claire McCarvill

Claire joins the firm’s Litigation group, practising in the area of insolvency and restructuring. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2025 and completed both her articling and summering with the firm’s Calgary office. Prior to entering law school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Winnipeg.

Kyle Murdy

Kyle joins the firm’s Corporate and Commercial group, practising in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, tax and general corporate and commercial. He completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary in 2025. Prior to starting law school, Kyle earned his Bachelor of Health Sciences and worked as an oncology research assistant for Alberta Health Services, where he co-authored research papers regarding definitive chemoradiotherapy.

Marissa Schippanoski

Marissa joins the firm’s Corporate and Commercial group. She received her Juris Doctor in 2025 from the University of Calgary. Prior to starting law school, she worked as a senior project developer working for multinational renewable energy project developers. She has developed over 1 GW of solar and energy storage utility-scale projects in Alberta, including Travers Solar, Canada’s largest solar project. Marissa also earned her Bachelor of Arts in criminology with distinction from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
