“Our expansion into the DACH region marks an exciting new chapter for Activate as we bring cutting-edge entertainment to Germany, Austria and Switzerland,” said Adam Schmidt, CEO and founder of Activate. “This isn’t just growth — it’s a vital step in our mission to redefine active, tech-driven experiences on a global scale. Our partnerships with VRex Entertainment and Sounds Fun Entertainment amplify our vision, and we can’t wait to introduce this innovative experience to a new audience.”

Activate’s DACH expansion will begin with the opening of their first German location in the second quarter of 2025, the first of four new locations that year. After that, they’ll be adding five additional locations each year through 2029.

As with Activate’s expansion into Scandinavia earlier this year, MLT Aikins, led by Catlin Bouché, was pleased to advise Activate on this cross-border transaction. The firm provided strategic counsel on international licensing, structuring and commercial terms in support of Activate’s expansions into Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Based in Winnipeg, Caitlin Bouché practises corporate and commercial law with particular focus in real estate transactions, including the purchase and sale of businesses, commercial leases and commercial financing.
