Shayla is an experienced banking, finance and entertainment lawyer. She has advised clients in the development, production and distribution of film and television productions.
In addition to her entertainment practice, she has experience working with financial institutions, private lenders and borrowers on a range of banking and finance transactions, including multi-jurisdictional, syndicated and mid-market lending.
Prior to joining MLT Aikins, Shayla worked as an associate in the banking and media and rntertainment group at a global law firm and most recently as in-house senior legal counsel at a global award-winning, full-service production, distribution and rights management company. She also worked in the entertainment industry as an actress and in production.
Shayla received her JD with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2018 before completing her Osgoode Certificate in Entertainment Law in 2020.
