Laura Klemmer named Vice-President of the Law Society of Saskatchewan

The Law Society of Saskatchewan has announced its new leadership for 2026. MLT Aikins lawyer Laura Klemmer has been acclaimed as Vice-President of the Law Society by its Benchers.
Laura will serve alongside incoming President James Fyfe, K.C., who transitions from his current role as Vice-President.
The appointments reflect the Society’s commitment to strong governance and advancing the legal profession in the public interest. James Fyfe brings extensive experience in constitutional law and professional service, while Laura Klemmer offers a wealth of knowledge in corporate and commercial law, complemented by years of leadership in both private practice and in-house roles.

About Laura Klemmer
A member of the MLT Aikins corporate/commercial group in Regina, Laura delivers practical, solutions-focused legal advice shaped by in-house counsel experience, cross-border training and a deep commitment to client service. Before joining the firm in 2025, she spent 16 years with a Federal Crown financial institution, most recently as Director of Corporate Legal Services, where she led a team advising on a wide range of corporate and operational matters including secured lending, risk management, Crown governance, contracts, procurement, employment, litigation management, marketing and communications. With a dual degree in Canadian and American law and experience in both public and private sectors, Laura brings diverse perspectives to her practice.
