Myriam Hacault

Myriam is an associate in our litigation group in Winnipeg. Myriam has wide-ranging experience in corporate and commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, securities litigation and construction litigation. Myriam also helps clients with their administrative proceedings before their professional regulatory bodies.

Myriam graduated with a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, where she volunteered with the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program and the Ottawa Law Review. Prior to law school, Myriam obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba.

Myriam regularly helps her clients assess risks in evolving situations, acting for clients in a variety of industries. Her representative work includes:

• Counsel for both target and purchasers in plans of arrangements
• Counsel for directors and officers in oppression disputes
• Counsel in domestic and international arbitrations in the construction sector held in Manitoba and Alberta
• Counsel for a board of directors in a proxy battle before the Alberta Court of King’s Bench
• Counsel for a target in a takeover bid before the Alberta Securities Commission

Myriam regularly represents clients in trials, arbitrations, hearings, and contested applications. She has appeared before the Manitoba Court of King’s Bench, the Manitoba Labour Board and the Manitoba Securities Commission. She has also represented clients in Alberta and Ontario, appearing before first instance courts in both provinces.
