Adam Rock

Adam Rock is a partner in the Calgary office of MLT Aikins LLP, where he focuses on private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, and complex commercial arrangements. He also advises clients involved in contested shareholder matters, including shareholder proposals and requisitions, proxy contests and unsolicited take-over bids. Adam is industry agnostic, but has particular experience in the energy and technology sectors. He is recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in Canada for his work in corporate law.

Adam serves on the board of Calgary Housing, which provides affordable housing solutions to more than 25,000 low- and moderate-income Calgarians on behalf of The City of Calgary and the Province of Alberta. He is also the director or officer of several private energy and technology companies.

Adam holds a law degree from the University of Toronto.

• GT Capital Trust Ltd. on its acquisition of Zyzygy Resources Ltd.
• Black Seal Resources Corp. on its shareholder engagement with, and minority investment from, affiliates of Kier Asset Management Inc.
• SC2 Inc. on its widely-disseminated offer to acquire shares of Sherritt International Corporation at a premium to the market price
• Expander Energy Inc. on its disposition of renewable energy assets to, strategic investment in, and subsequent shareholder engagement with, Cielo Waste Solutions Corp.
• CE Brands Inc. on its debt recapitalization and majority investment from funds managed by Vesta Wealth Partners Ltd.
• Expander Energy Inc. on its joint venture with Rocky Mountain Clean Fuels Inc. to construct the world’s first biomass-to-BioSyndiesel® facility
• Metiquity Ventures Fund LP on its minority investments in Mastrius Marketplace, Inc. and Runnr Delivery Inc.
