MLT Aikins is pleased to announce that Winnipeg-based immigration lawyer Jessica Jensen has been elected Chair of the Manitoba Bar Association (MBA) Immigration Law Section. Jessica previously served as Vice Chair of the Section from 2024 to 2026 and as Secretary from 2020-2022.
The Immigration Law Section is a forum for discussion, advocacy, and education on immigration issues. Members hear about current issues and solutions within immigration law and work to develop constructive legislative and policy reforms through ongoing dialogue and meetings with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program; the Canada Border Services Agency; Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada; Service Canada and the Immigration and Refugee Board, as well as Legal Aid Manitoba.

Jessica practises Canadian and U.S. immigration law and maintains a Foreign Legal Consultant permit from the Law Society of Manitoba, allowing her to practise U.S. law in Manitoba. She is dual-licensed and is a member in good standing of the Manitoba, Minnesota and North Dakota Bars, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
