Applications for the Launch Pad challenge, held by the Regina International Film Festival & Awards, are now open.
Each year, the Regina International Film Festival & Awards (RIFFA) fosters connection and learning by bringing filmmakers and audiences together through film screenings, masterclasses, industry talks and special events. They also support emerging filmmakers through initiatives like the Launch Pad challenge, which MLT Aikins is proud to sponsor alongside Fire Ring Productions and Play Creative Media.
The Launch Pad challenge provides up-and-coming Saskatchewan filmmakers who have less than five years of industry experience with the chance to win the resources to produce and screen their short film at this year’s festival in August.
In addition to $10,000, access to production equipment and a pass to the festival, this year’s winner will also receive a two-hour legal consultation courtesy of MLT Aikins to help the winner address aspects of entertainment law which could include matters of contracting, licensing, intellectual property and more.
We are excited to support the growth of emerging artists throughout Western Canada and look forward to the seeing the winner’s film at the Regina International Film Festival & Awards, which runs from August 19 through 23, 2025.
