MLT Aikins is pleased to welcome intellectual property and technology lawyer Shuang Ren to the firm’s Calgary office.
Shuang maintains an intellectual property and technology law practice that focuses on patent matters and commercial intellectual property (IP) agreements. Her experience includes advising clients on IP agreements, drafting and prosecuting patent and industrial design applications and supporting clients in the development of their IP portfolios. She is a qualified Patent Agent in China, as well as a registered Patent Agent Trainee in Canada.
Shuang was called to the Ontario Bar in 2023 and Alberta Bar in 2026. She received her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. Prior to completing law school, she earned her Master of Science in Materials Science from Stony Brook University and her Bachelor of Engineering, Materials Processing and Control Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China.
