Deron Kuski inducted as fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers

Regina lawyer Deron Kuski, K.C., has been elected as a fellow of the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers, joining a select group of leading trial lawyers in the United States and Canada.

Election as a fellow to the college is extended by invitation only, recognizing lawyers whose careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Further, lawyers must have at least fifteen years of trial experience before they can be considered. The induction ceremony will take place on September 23 in San Diego.

A partner at MLT Aikins, Deron joined the firm in 1997 and currently practises in the area of litigation, including commercial litigation, construction litigation, constitutional law and all aspects of creditor and commercial leasing law.

Deron regularly represents clients in the Court of King’s Bench and the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, and is counsel of record in more than 150 reported court decisions. He has extensive experience with arbitrations and mediations in Saskatchewan, across Canada and internationally. In recent years, he was retained by the Saskatchewan Government to represent it on its carbon tax appeal at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Deron’s impact extends beyond the courtroom, encompassing leadership within the firm, mentorship to emerging legal professionals and contributions to the legal community.

Outside the courtroom, Deron is active in the community. He was on the United Way Board and was a member of Campaign Cabinet, including as Chair for one year, is a member of the University of Regina Rams Football Club Board of Directors, and he has played on and coached dozens of football and basketball teams in the city at various levels, including several that won Provincial and National championships.

Deron’s greatest source of pride is his family, his wife Tanya and their five children and four grandchildren. Tanya will join Deron in San Diego for the induction, and the rest of the family will celebrate the accomplishment together later this month.
