Congratulations to Regina lawyer Milad Alishahi on his recent appointment to the SaskEnergy Incorporated (SaskEnergy) Board of Directors as of May 31, 2021. Milad will serve a two-year term ending on May 31, 2023.
The SaskEnergy Board of Directors provide general or overarching guidance and direction to the organization, working with the Executive Leadership Team to develop and approve SaskEnergy’s strategic plan, annual operational budget and business plan. The Board assists with identifying business risks and overseeing the implementation of appropriate systems to achieve a balance between the risks and returns.
Board members also work on Board Committees to undertake additional work regarding the corporation’s stewardship. The committees include the Audit and Finance Committee; Environmental, Social and Governance Committee; and Human Resources and Safety Committee.
The scope of the Board’s power is set out in The SaskEnergy Act. All authority to manage the affairs and business of SaskEnergy and its subsidiaries rests with the Board, unless they choose to delegate authority.
