Melissa is a member of the firm’s advocacy practice group. She is developing a practice focused on intellectual property litigation, intellectual property solicitor work and commercial litigation. Melissa is particularly interest in security litigation and shareholder disputes. Melissa is called to the bar in both Canada and the United States, and is developing her practice to assist clients navigate business matters in both countries.
During law school, Melissa clerked for the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon for Magistrate Judge Jolie A. Russo, and was an associate editor with Willamette Law Review. Additionally, she worked with a lobbying company in Washington, D.C.
Melissa received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, in 2024 with a certificate in business law and a certificate in health law.
Prior to law school, she earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta. She is a former Deputy Fire Chief with Edmonton Fire Rescue Services and prior to that was a consultant in the areas of leadership and strategy for more than 10 years.
Outside of the office, Melissa enjoys exploring Vancouver with her husband and son.
