Tobey practises primarily in the area of labour and employment law. His experience includes assisting employers with defence against wrongful dismissal allegations, human rights complaints, unfair labour practice complaints and workers’ compensation matters.

Tobey’s practice also includes immigration law, primarily focused on international transfers of corporate personnel, foreign worker retention, and overcoming criminal inadmissibility. He holds a diploma in Canadian Immigration Law, Policy and Procedures, and served as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) from 2018 to 2024 before beginning his legal journey.

Tobey received his JD from the University of Manitoba in 2025. Prior to law school, Tobey earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba in 2022.
