MLT Aikins lawyers act as counsel for the National Digital Banking Working Group

MLT Aikins is proud to have acted as legal counsel to the National Digital Banking Working Group (NDBWG). The NDBWG was established by representatives from the Credit Unions Future Committee (CFC), National Consulting Limited (NCL) and Stabilization Central Credit Union, following Central 1’s decision to wind down its digital banking business. This working group is dedicated to guiding credit unions and other financial institutions through the complexities of digital migration by identifying modern, scalable and member-focused solutions.
As part of a national initiative to research and recommend new digital banking solutions for Canadian credit unions and financial institutions, MLT Aikins lawyers Nathan Schissel and Matt Barnes provided legal support to the NDBWG, which represents 60 member organizations across Canada. Their role included reviewing and negotiating agreements –such as the subscription and services agreement, the initial statement of work and the initial order form – with the NDBWG’s preferred vendor, Intellect Design. Throughout the process, MLT Aikins counsel worked closely with the NDBWG Executive Committee, Intellect Design and the credit union Working Group, ensuring comprehensive oversight and guidance at each stage.
