On Thursday, November 6, MLT Aikins lawyer Kristél Kriel will speak at the 2025 Canadian Bar Association Privacy and Access Law Conference in Ottawa, Ontario.
Kristél will be speaking at “Provincial Update – Privacy and Access,” a chance to learn about major privacy and access to information developments from the last 12 months at the provincial level. She’ll be sharing the stage with Alexandre Ajami (Miller Thomson) and Ethan Plato (BC Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner). This panel will provide insights on important trends in privacy through the lens of recent decisions made by the courts and privacy commissioners.
Kristél provides practical and strategic advice to public and private organizations across all industries, including on privacy, cybersecurity and freedom of information laws, as well as matters such as interpretation, compliance, policy development, education, training and risk management. She helps organizations implement creative solutions for privacy issues affecting their customers and workplaces.
Kristél also provides strategic advice to organizations on provincial and federal access requests and complaints, as well as reviews by privacy regulators across Canada. She has helped clients develop innovative and effective privacy compliance programs and manage and respond to a full range of cyber and privacy incidents while regularly assisting clients with cybersecurity compliance and breach counselling.
