Tan practises in the firm’s advocacy group with a focus on professional liability defence, health law, as well as general corporate/commercial litigation, including collection and recovery proceedings.

Tan is a dedicated and passionate litigator in the firm’s advocacy group. He is developing a broad litigation practice that encompasses professional discipline, medical malpractice, health law, occupiers’ liability, property damage claims, as well as corporate and commercial disputes. He has appeared before the Court of King’s Bench, Small Claims Court and administrative tribunals.

Tan earned his law degree from Robson Hall at the University of Manitoba, where he distinguished himself by winning numerous prizes for academic excellence, including specific achievements in advocacy, tax law, tort law and legal research.

Throughout his time in law school, Tan volunteered with the Public Interest Law Centre, the University of Manitoba Community Law Centre and the Family Law Clinic. He also completed the Gale Cup moot and competed as a top eight finalist in the Solomon Greenberg Trial Advocacy Competition.

Prior to law school, Tan completed a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English. He has also worked in the entertainment industry, producing and writing music for television and film.
