Tan is an articling student in the firm’s Winnipeg office.

Tan returns to MLT Aikins as an articling student after summering with the firm in 2022. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba. Prior to entering law school, he completed a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts.

During law school, Tan was a student clerk at the Manitoba Court of Appeal. He gained experience in advocacy as a member of the Gale Cup Moot Team and the Solomon Greenberg Trial Advocacy Competition.

Tan gained legal experience by assisting clients under the supervision of a lawyer at the University of Manitoba Community Law Centre and the Family Law Clinic. He was also a research assistant for two professors and co-authored an article on pedagogy during the pandemic, which was published in a Canadian law journal.

In addition, Tan has written and produced music for TV and film.

Tan is fluent in Turkish.
