More about me
Jeremie L. Roussel is a partner in the Regina office of MLT Aikins, where his practice focuses on procurement, construction, infrastructure and project development. He regularly advises municipalities, school boards, mines and private sector entities on complex contracting matters.
Jeremie has extensive experience advising public sector clients on construction projects ranging from approximately $5 million to $100 million in value. His work includes procurement strategy and compliance with trade agreements, as well as the preparation and review of RFPs, tenders and related procurement documents. He also advises on the full suite of contracts that support major projects, including construction and engineering agreements.
A significant portion of Jeremie’s practice is dedicated to the mining sector. As an associate and subsequently as a partner at MLT Aikins, he has been seconded on both a full-time and part-time basis for a cumulative period of approximately two years to a leading global mining company, serving as in-house counsel. Through these secondments, he has provided hands-on legal support across a broad range of commercial, construction and operational matters, developing a practical, business-focused approach to risk allocation and contract management. He also continues to act as counsel to a major uranium producer, regularly advising on commercial and supply contracts.
Jeremie is frequently engaged to assist both public and private sector clients with the development of contract and procurement templates, including supplementary conditions to standard form agreements as well as bespoke construction, service and supply of goods agreements. He also advises on procurement documentation and processes, including RFPs and tenders, and delivers training programs tailored to client procurement and contracting needs.
Well regarded for his drafting skills, Jeremie brings a high level of precision and clarity to contract development. He takes pride in translating complex legal requirements into clear, workable contract language.
Jeremie joined MLT Aikins in 2017 after completing a one-year clerkship at the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal.
