James Ferguson, Q.C.

James practises largely in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and securities law, including corporate finance, leveraged buyouts, takeovers, cross-border transactions and amalgamations. His industry focus includes food and agri-business, energy, transportation, health, aviation and global manufacturing.

David Filmon, Q.C.

David practises in the area of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities law, with an emphasis on public company and large private company transactions, advice to boards and special committees and corporate governance.

Ryan Hallman

Ryan maintains a commercial law practice focused on business acquisitions and divestitures and on commercial lending. Ryan’s experience includes acting for both vendors and purchasers in share and asset transactions in various industries. He also acts for a diverse group of commercial lenders and has experience across the spectrum of lending. In addition, Ryan also practises in the area of forestry law, advising various lumber companies on business and regulatory matters

Stathy Markatos

Stathy advises clients on general corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on M&A and securities law. He has experience with public offerings, private placements, continuous disclosure and corporate governance matters. He also has acted for buyers, sellers and target companies on numerous M&A transactions, including transactions in the agribusiness, manufacturing, equipment sales, financial services and energy services sectors, by way of asset sales, share sales and plan of arrangement.

Aaron Runge

Aaron serves as managing partner of the firm. Prior to his appointment as managing partner, Aaron’s practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, venture and private capital, corporate finance and securities law. Aaron has acted for buyers, sellers and target companies on several significant domestic and international M&A transactions.
