Danielle’s practice focuses on technology, data and commercialization and the health-care and agriculture and food sectors. She provides assistance to a diverse client base, from small businesses to large public and private corporations. Her experience includes assisting clients with outsourcing arrangements and procurement of information technology services and software, advising clients on privacy law interpretation and compliance issues, providing support in the implementation of IT systems and programs, and assisting both the developers and customers of e-commerce and cloud platforms.

Danielle also has experience advising clients on IP strategy as well as drafting and advising clients on licensing, transfer and other commercial arrangements regarding IP. She also regularly provides strategic advice in relation to commercial transactions that include the purchase and sale of IP assets.

  • Counsel to Saskatchewan Government Insurance on a digital transformation project to modernize its core insurance capabilities and position the organization for growth, including preparation and negotiation of agreements for the implementation and integration of new technology solutions for its property and casualty and automotive insurance divisions
  • Counsel to the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board with respect to its ongoing claims-system modernization project
  • Counsel to the Government of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Health Authority and other Saskatchewan health-care organizations with their Oracle Cloud ERP projects, including negotiation with Deloitte and other vendors for implementation, go-live and ongoing support and maintenance
  • Counsel to Innovation Federal Credit Union with respect to various digital transformation initiatives including the development, implementation and sustainment of online and mobile banking, customer relationship management (CRM), loan origination and branch automation solutions
  • Counsel to various health-care organizations on procurement methods and best practices, service and supply contracts and trade agreement obligations
  • Co-counsel to Health Shared Services Saskatchewan (3sHealth) in the negotiation and documentation of a long-term contract for the Administrative Information Management System (AIMS) which replaced 82 non-integrated systems with a single software solution
  • Acted as counsel to a mining company for the negotiation of a large and complex outsourcing arrangement
  • Co-adviser to two research non-profit corporations involved in the advancement of carbon capture and storage
  • Assisted Dot® Technology Corporation in commercializing the initial sale of their proprietary Dot® Power Platform as well as licensing the Dot® Technology for the development of Dot® Ready implements
  • Assisted a hardware and software developer in the licensing and further commercialization of their IoT and M2M connectivity product
  • Act as ongoing counsel to a control systems developer on matters including supply agreements regarding the commercialization of proprietary hardware and software
  • Act as ongoing counsel to a heavy equipment and machinery company regarding the commercialization of their agricultural management solution and corresponding expansion of their supply chain
  • Act as ongoing counsel to a farm equipment company with respect to their development of a proprietary precision ag solution based on compilation of farm-specific data
  • Assisted a large, acquisition-oriented corporation operating in the aviation services and equipment and manufacturing sectors with the management of a critical cybersecurity incident and the corresponding updates to its privacy compliance program and incident response planning
