Helga practises in the areas of litigation and administrative law, and advises on matters related to regulatory issues, professional liability, health care and utilities.

Helga has a broad civil litigation and administrative law practice. She has extensive experience with regulatory issues and professional liability claims. Her wide ranging practice also includes, health law and human rights, energy and public utility regulation, and bidding and tendering issues, and personal injury. She is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Helga co-led the project resulting in the University of Manitoba’s report: “Responding to Sexual Violence, Harassment & Discrimination at the University of Manitoba: A Path Forward.”

She is currently a board member of Legal Aid Manitoba Management Council and is active in other community boards. She has been a past president of the Law Society and is a past recipient of the MBA – Pro Bono Public Interest award.
