About Best Lawyers

Best Lawyers uses an entirely peer-based nomination and evaluation approach to determine its winners each year. This process aims “to capture, as accurately as possible, the consensus opinion of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues within the same geographical area and legal practice area.” Learn more about the methodology.

The Lawyer of the Year distinction is awarded to individual lawyers who “received the highest overall peer-feedback for a specific practice area and geographic region.” Only one lawyer is recognized for each practice area and location per edition.

Ones to Watch are lawyers who are earlier in their careers and demonstrate legal excellence. They are recognized for their work in specific area(s) of law.
